I was asked to write a topic writing on a famous person so I did Sir Edmund Hillary because he is very well known for climbing Mount Everest and it is the highest mountain in the world, he is also the guy on the 5 dollar note.

Have you ever heard of Sir Edmund Hillary? He was the first one to climb Mount Everest, he was born 20 July 1919 and died 11 January 2008 and he was 33 years old when he climbed Mount Everest and he took 16 days to climb Mount Everest and he was 6 feet or 6 inches tall. Since he was the first person to climb the highest mountain in the world he got on the 5 dollar note. Mount Everest is 8,848.86 metres high, and he was knighted in 1953 after he climbed Mount Everest. His hobby is climbing mountains before he climbed Mount Everest he was a beekeeper, during WW ll he was a navigator with the NZ royal air force.
